Recreational Camps & Clinics
Rec Summer Camps Carlsbad Lightning Soccer offers several professionally coached soccer camps during the summer. These camps are intended for the recreational soccer player to develop their skills in a fun and supportive environment. Sessions are set for July 5-8 (Stagecoach Park) , July 27-30 (Aviara Oaks Middle School), August 2- 5 and 16-20 (Stagecoach) Get complete information and the signup form here. (This is a pdf and opens in new window. you'll need Acrobat reader) Rec Week Practice Clinic Schedule This week our professional coaching staff works with the volunteer coaches and players from the recreational program. We will cover how to run a practice full of fun and drills to help young players develop. These sessions are designed for the coaches and teams together, to help them get off to a great start for the season. This is the first official week of practice for these age groups. Have your kids ready to attend there practices listed below. The schedule will be updated when the 2010 dates are set.
All players must arrive and check-in 15 minutes prior to start time. Rec. Week is mandatory for all coaches and teams, even if you are a returning coach. If a coach cannot make it his/her team must still attend and the assistant coach must attend. This week of training is specifically designed to assess recreational coaching skills and provide guidance and direction from the competitive coaching staff, based on Lightning’s philosophy of player development. It is a valuable coaching resource for our recreational coaches that Lightning wants everyone to take advantage of. Rec. Week is the first official week of practices for teams. Coaches should come prepared with a lesson plan, cones, balls and pennies for each practice, using coaching techniques and drills included in the Lightning Coaching Curriculum. |
